I think Bellyache will give Richie a week or two to find his feet in the Storm squad and give him time to settle in.
I would rather Jaiman Lowe than Bryan Norrie, I feel the much maligned Jaiman actually lifted his game in the Warriors and Tigers games and I reckon he was unfairly dropped just because Norrie is a coach favourite. Norrie has been playing like a park footballer for most of the year and I feel he no longer is giving any go-forward anymore and is exhausted after about 2 hit-ups (he looks about 40 years old at times on the field).
Maurice Blair is a centre, not a 5/8. He was average last game in that position and I would prefer Cam to start there this week and go back to his preferred dummy half role later in the game. If not, maybe Rory can fill in the #6.
Also, why is Vave 18th man???

Mattstormy, do you follow league? Do you understand that defense and attack are both factors in winning?
Jaiman Lowe is a decent forward, but doesn't offer what the other forwards are offering.
Bromwich is flashy, Norrie is the defensive specialist and vave is the impact forward. ryles is between bromwich and Norrie.
Bellamy uses his forwards primarily for defense,

My message got cut off
As I was saying, Bellamy uses his props for defense. Second row and backs for attack. When all the salary cap is tied up in brilliant attaching players like smith, cronk and slater, you can't afford a high dollar pack, so you spend small money on good players and they get the job done
Bromwich is good in attack, as is ryles, due to his huge frame, vave is developing in attach, and can be a handful, Norrie is the defensive specialist, best at slowing the play the ball, to allow the defensive line to set.
Bellamy has developed these players to do exactly what he wants, week in, week out, a perfect example is the way ryles is no longer throwing offloads to no one. Bellamy has cut the out and it's making ryles play his best footy in years.
If you reckon the 4 forwards are there cause they are coach favourites, you've got rocks in your head, I dont think a coach as professional and as competent as Bellamy would be playing favourites with budget players. He would want success

Not exactly the case. Props such as Ryles and Vave are used to punch holes up the middle of the ruck and exploit defences through the middle, especially towards the back end of halves when forward packs start to feel the fatigue accumulated throughout the match.brewer wrote:

On the other hand you have props like Norrie who Bellamy uses to keep the engine room running so to speak and provide a stable and consistent platform for the likes of Cronk and Smith to build off. Norrie may not have the impact of Vave and Ryles but he'll give u a consistent ball carrier who can keep the momentum going. Ryles and Vave are made for what is dubbed impact stints whilst Norrie is a workhorse.
On defence guys like Vave and Ryles have been invaluable this year as they have provided us with a foundation which allows our pack to no longer be outmuscled by bigger forward packs. Just look at both the Warriors games, the Cowboys and the bulldogs at home.
Norrie may not be outstanding this year but he's what is called a 1% player, meaning he does the little extras which are required and which Craig bases the philopshy of the team around. Hinchy and Hoffman are exactly the same. Their reliable and u can count on them to push that little bit harder to make the moves and decisions required.
Also thought I'd add:
What makes us such a great club is the culture that has been built. We are a defence first squad and we earn the right to play our attacking brand of footy because we do the little 1%'s in defence that force our opponents to become both mentally and physically frustrated at the lack of opportunities to put points on the board.
Our defensive mindset highlights that defence really is the key to winning games and it's a reason why Craig and the storm staff have revolutionized the NRL as we know it. Bellamy has instilled a no frills, defence orientated culture which other clubs are now actively seeking to employ. that's why we see the likes of Kearney and Maguire being headhunted for NRL coaching positions.

couldnt have said it better myself, i think whilst we do have the brilliance of smith cronk and slater, i reckon guys like hinchy, hoffy, and norrie are unheralded in what they do for the club, on and off the field. its the platform guys like this lay, that allows the big three to shine. and shine they do

Bill said during the origin telecast he's not far away and will only miss 2 more games. Will be blessing in disguise when it's all done with the nice long rest he's had, though with him out it makes it harder for us to rest Cam and Coops in the coming weeks.
