From the LU Knights board
Brother of Kruize Wilson who was a suqad member last year. Sounds a like a big unit.Jermaine Wilson is off to the Storm
andersons off to northern pride
Dunemann leaves the Pride in a strong position for 2010, though, after the signing of several players, including Melbourne Storm squad member Brett Anderson and Titans back Brenton Bowen.

good luck Bretto! Still love that juggling-over-your-head try you scored against the Rabbitohs in the last round 2008.

12th October 2009

Tamatea premier rugby league coach Adrian Rowlands described Tohu Harris as "one of those one-in-a-million blokes".
Rowlands wasn't referring to Harris' league skills but they're more than handy.
"Tohu doesn't drink, doesn't smoke and doesn't have a girlfriend ... that's how committed he is to his sport," Rowlands said.
"It's not that I don't like those things ... I just don't do them," said Harris (pictured) after playing a dominant role as Tamatea secured the No.1 berth for the October 31 semifinals in the Hawke's Bay competition with a 54-12 drubbing of All Steel Buildings Phoenix at Kirkpatrick Park, Hastings on Saturday.
The benefits of 17-year-old Harris' sacrifices were easy to pick up. He scored three tries for Tamatea and kicked two goals after scoring four tries in the reserve grade curtainraiser which saw Tamatea beat Bridge Pa 42-24.
Harris' unloads and defensive skills were just as impressive as his tryscoring exploits.
Next month Harris will start a two-year contract with the champion NRL club Melbourne Storm. He will play for the club's under-18 side with the aim of securing a contract in the club's Toyota Cup under-20s team.
"I'll see how things go over the summer, if I don't like it over there I've got the option of coming home and going back to school," said Harris, who played rugby for the Hastings Boys' High School 1st XV and Hawke's Bay under-18s over winter.
Although he plays centre for the Tamatea premiers he will play in the forwards with the Storm.
Along with Harris, utility Jason Robinson also scored a hat-trick for Tamatea.
Scrumhalf Colin Hokianga was another to shine.
Phoenix were missing six regular starters and their performance reflected it.
AdvertisementFullback Ihaka Paul, who scored two tries, was the pick of the Phoenix backs and prop George Hawkins and veteran second-rower Russell Brown had high workrates in the losing pack. Tamatea will host Phoenix again in the semifinals while EITSA will host Omahu Huia in the other.
Omahu Huia pipped Flaxmere Falcons 30-24 in the other Kirkpatrick Park encounter.
"It was a messy win ... we did it the hard way," said Omahu kingpin Jeremy Hepi.
Lance Kupa had a high workrate for Omahu while Mohi Kendrick was prominent in a Falcons side which deserves praise for its never-say-die approach.
A former Hawke's Bay B rugby trio of centre Faryn Ngawaka, winger Migao Lauano and second-rower Jamie Muir were all prominent in the EITSA side's 44-20 win against Clive Cougars at Whitmore Park. Lock Kenny Robinson and second-rower Cheyme Haimona were again the Cougars best in a match well controlled by referee George Walford.
Another gun on the way .
Im just hoping we did NOT sign lowrie from parra because we not going to re-sign DJ. Is there any more news guys?

I for one would love to see him stay even one more year.

RUGBY LEAGUE: Muir turns on hot play with tries for a win
2nd November 2009
Email Story Print larger | smaller One doesn't have to be a genius to work out Jamie Muir is the hot favourite for the EITSA premier rugby league side's player-of-the-year prize - a trip for two to Fiji.
The former Magpies hooker was again prominent during EITSA's shaky 34-32 semifinal win against Omahu Huia at Napier's Park Island on Saturday. He scored two consecutive tries in the third quarter to give his team a 14-point lead - EITSA'S biggest in the game they were lucky to win.
When Muir collects his prize and is looking for mates to take, fellow secondrower Roger McPherson would be a top candidate. The 2001-04 Hawks basketballer produced a huge defensive workrate off the bench and impressed with a couple of offloads, which led to both of Muir's tries.
"I don't mind you mentioning the offloads but my defensive work is the priority for the brothers," said McPherson.
A business studies graduate, McPherson, 30, is playing his third season of league but first since 2003. He still plays social basketball but prefers league these days. "Basketball isn't physical enough," said McPherson.
He agreed his team will have to improve to beat an in-form Tamatea outfit in this Saturday's final at Park Island. His coach Waka Leonard couldn't have summed up EITSA's performance better.
"We played s*** and still won," said Leonard.

Omahu deserve praise for the improvement they displayed on recent performances. They produced some gutsy defence and capitalised on most of their scoring opportunities.
Centre Billy Ropiha and standoff Shannon Hawea were outstanding in the Omahu backline while Henry Heke provided plenty of go-forward up-front.
John Bates Wheel Alignment Tamatea secondrower Peni Paselio ran riot and scored four tries and kicked three goals in his side's 46-10 walloping of All Steel Buildings Phoenix in the other semifinal. Tamatea proved they could play a conservative style well when required and once they had their comfortable lead they turned on the razzle dazzle in style too.
"Of course, Peni was our player-of-the-match. But I couldn't have asked for more from the whole team considering it was our first outing in three weeks," said a delighted Tamatea coach Adrian Rowlands.
His team played without Melbourne Storm-bound utility Tohu Harris who was injured and Rowlands is confident he will recover in time for the final. Experience scrumhalf Colin Hokianga was another key architect in Tamatea's victory.
Phoenix did well to trail 12-10 at halftime but disintegrated big time in the second spell.
Tamatea also qualified for the reserve grade final against Kahuranaki, the women's final against EITSA and the under-16s final against Tech Seals. MAC pipped first season side Hastings Rugby and Sports 30-28 in Saturday's under-20s final. The under-14s final will see EITSA take on Wairoa College and EITSA will meet Tech Seals in the under-13 final.

Matt Duffie would also have to be in consideration if he keeps developing at the rate he has this year. I would rate him in front of Isa and Utala. Sam Joe is also in the mix. Will be interesting to see who of the young guys jumps up.
Ahhh McGahan; you've done it agahan....
