Sam Joe faces suspension for ref contact
Source: www.leaguehq.com.au
Melbourne Storm Toyota Cup player Sam Joe faces a possible three-game ban after being charged with contrary conduct after making contact with the referee by the NRL judiciary.
The incident took place during the Storm's encounter with Newcastle at Olympic Park on Saturday, when both sets of players were involved in an on-field melee.
The 20-year-old centre will face an automatic two-match suspension should he choose to take the early guilty plea, but will be sidelined for three games should he opt to fight the charge and lose.

I didn't see the Toyota Cup game, but if I was Sam I would be taking the early guilty plea.
Its bad enough fighting a charge as it is, never mind fighting one that involves a Ref.

Last year I swore at a ref after he binned me, I got 6 weeks! And that's only because I had no record, a 16 year old from blue mountains got 15+ weeks for the same thing!
Missed the finals I haven't played since

I saw the game and he will take the early guilty plea for sure. there was nothing in it but the ruls clearly state that you can NOT touch the ref in any way shape or form and he did... It is unfortunate for sam as he has been playing well for the boys.
