I was looking at the Eagles website and their team is hosting an after game function for fans.

I take it this is Manly hosting the game so nothing from our team?

Are we grandstanding or general admissioning?

Hoping to be there.

i had really hoped to get there, being about 15 mins from home, at our brand new, local ground. unfortunately, as often seems to be the case, i am going to be out of town that weekend, and reduced to seeing highlights on foxsports when it comes on line and listening to the WCC on radio en route.

*sigh*

- Luke Samoa must be making an impression.  Did the full preseason in Melbourne but was not listed in the 33 man squad or 5 additional players to watch.  Starting fullback in the trial game must mean they are keen to see him perform.
- Looking forward to seeing Ryan Shortland have a consistent run.  Almost the forgotten man of the development players due to injury but can really play.  Spots in the backline will be tough crack but it doesn't hurt to have options.
- Russell Aitken gets a chance to impress at 5/8.
- Jeff Lima was quoted by Bellamy as being the best forward last week and has been given a rest.  Crossman and Donnelly both selected to back up - probably a sign on how he saw their games.
Ahhh McGahan; you've done it agahan....

I'll be there - grandstand seat.

The Manly players were on show at the Kawana Shopping Centre today... anyone know if the Stormers are going to be doing any fan day type activities in the lead up to the game on Saturday?

Also, as the gates open at 12:00pm, and the game kicks off at 7:30pm, what time is everyone planning on actually getting there?  Any meeting up before or after the game?  Any insider info on what the players are doing or where they're going after the game?

Found this in the Sunshine Coast Daily:
Sunshine Coast Daily wrote:While the trio won’t be lining up in Saturday night’s match, they will be at Sunshine Plaza on Friday afternoon for a meet and greet session, along with team mates Antonio Kafusi and Brett White.

Each player will also be subjected to a rigourous on-stage interrogation at the hands of former Storm captain Robbie Kearns.

They will be at Centre Stage, Sunshine Plaza from 12.30 to 4.30 tomorrow.

Mooloolaba TAFE students studying for the Diploma of Event Management have assisted to erect the temporary grandstand, which will seat the crowd.
Of course - I was kinda scared about that last line. I've been to TAFE. *shudder* :D

That is kind of scary ... good thing I didn't purchase a seat then.

Also who are "the trio" to whom the article refers?

Thanks for that Buzz!!  Trust you (in Melbourne) to direct me to an article in my local Sunshine Coast newspaper!! :)
I'll definitely head over there for that!

So, we Stormers ended up securing the big plaza (biggest on the coast), while the Manly players had to squeeze into the eatery at the smaller Kawana Shopping Centre!  :P
