I would love Billy to play forever, but for his own well being, I really hope he gives it away now. He's had a great career but unfortunately all the heavy hits his body has taken over the years has finally taken its toll. I know it's hard to do but retiring gracefully might be the best thing for him now. Remember, he's not a 25 year old like he was back in 2008 when he was a juggernaut, he'll be 33 in June. An injury like this is not going to go away, especially a shoulder which once hurt badly can stay with you for a long time if you don't look after it (therefore playing should be the last priority on his mind).
I could be wrong, he might want to go around again to prove himself next year, but I don't think he has to prove himself anymore. Billy is going to be a future immortal based off what he's done in his career. As the great Molly Meldrum says, do yourself a favour Billy... and give it away champ.

blessing in disguise ... retire now and coach our backs
keep and upgrade munster and coops
upset yes but he is 32 we cant keep keeping all our old players and letting the young ones go....this is the best thing that could happen to the storm in a long long time
yes its mean but I don't want to be sitting at aami park in 4 years time whinging about the fact all 3 (big3) have retire at the same time and we are losing cause we have let our players go to keep them
just my opinion you can hate me but I don't care

I hope he comes back next season even if it is for one game so we can let him know how much we love watching him play and show him how much we have appreciated watching the best full back ever to play the game.He has certainly given us so many highlights over the years.
I know the tackle from manu fattyguy was legal but Billy was absolutely NOT braced for that tackle or the one later in the same game.

I would be devastated if that was Billy's last game. He deserves a real tribute from the supporters and a proper lap of honour. To many melbourne people who don't follow league very closely, Billy IS Melbourne Storm. He's done so much for the club both on and off the field I feel we owe it to him to let him go on his terms.
I agree. Even the short version of his achievements is a long list:
3 Winning Grand Finals (2007,'09,'12)
Golden Boot (2008)
Clive Churshill Medal (2009)
Dally M Medal (2011)
3rd All Time Highest Tryscorer (Most in NRL Era)
2 Time Storm Player of the Year (2008, '09)...
You could go on and on without too much effort. He is the most recognisable face in the club's history and every time I've ever seen him around supporters - especially children - he's made time for photos and autographs (I remember one family day a few years back where the MC on stage had to literally call him, Cam, Coops and Hoffy away from the fans to come up on stage and speak).
I hope this isn't the end, he deserves better.
