Something to consider: would a player receiving a third party deal need to sign more than one contract?

The article says there were three contracts ........

It does not say he signed three contracts.... or even knew there were three
contracts .... it is all a matter of which way the Journo wants to write the
bullshit that dribbles from their mouths... nothing in that article is based on fact ....
It is hearsay and suggestions...

Lets get the facts and deal with those.. this article was purely written to weaken the Storms case
and get the public to stop supporting them. It is only written to tarnish storms image and distort the truth.
To make the players seem to be holding things up and to try to tarnish the players image...

So when were these meetings called? Do the players actually have to go?
How much notice were they given? Were they allowed to have legal representation?

Maybe the meetings were called for on the night of a game or when training was on or when they
were on leave for a few days........ a few facts are very much missing from that article....

Just from a legal point of view here, most contracts are drawn up and signed in duplicate (and in some cases in triplicate depending on the number of parties to the agreement). Surely this would explain there being 3 contracts?? Each party is supposed to hold a signed contract..

Now here's the funny thing.................
The media keeps harping on about players knowing that 3rd party deals would be 'outside the cap'
HELLO - HAYNE - THURSTON - LOCKYER All have 3rd party deals 'outside the cap' That's why they're called 3rd party deals. Only 3rd party deals with direct sponsors of the club/NRL or those closely linked are actually included in the cap.
They also keep on about $150,000 payments for 3rd party deals.
What short memories journos have  :?
Jarryd Hayne is the new face of rugby league
from : The Daily Telegraph  August 25, 2009
Hayne's contract talks with Parramatta have officially been placed on hold until after the season, although it is understood the Eels are ready to table a four-year deal worth about $2million.
His amazing form will also see Hayne, who is off contract at the end of next season, cash in on his growing superstar status by collecting mega-bucks in off-field sponsorships and endorsements. Hayne could attract third-party deals worth $150,000 a year, while celebrity manager Max Markson believes the NSW star could also secure corporate sponsorship worth about $250,000 a year
He could earn another $50,000 through annual representative payments.
Them's great figures aren't they  :o

Now I'm not saying he's getting that much  ??? but everyone KNOWS that the Telegraph wouldn't print anything that wasn't true  ;-)

in Haynes case and Joey's case wouldn't there have been more than one contract?

one for the NRL monies and the other for the third parties.

This is what has happened - here is your NRL contract and here is your other contract which includes 3rd parties.

What is disgraceful is how this is coming out even before the audit is complete.

Is this an audit or a News Ltd news gathering exercise??

I say the players should not co-operate .. any more!
There is only one Melbourne Storm
And in Melbourne they will stay
.....forever.
