Tactically revolutionary performance from us last night.
I say revolutionary cause the commonly held belief in league has ALWAYS been you have to gp through the forwards before you spread it but we're tossing this theory out the window. By doing this we're forcing teams to spread there line and not compress as much, this in turn opens up the middle for the big men to find bigger holes.
Slater was obviously MoM but i was so impressed last night with Aiden Tolman, Ryan Tandy and Dane Nielson.
Great effort as well by the U/20, Chisholm was amazing, his speed is extrordinary.

OK after the euphoria has settled down I think we need to be realistic.
Yes it was a good win but take into account the following:
- Manly had two of their best players injured in the game - Lyon and Kite
- Effectively they only had 2 on the bench
- Manly outmuscled us in the first 25 minutes and looked very dangerous
- Smith's goalkicking continues to be a real worry, especially in a close contest
So yeah a good win and we'll take it, but let's not get too carried away.
Cheers

Looking dangerous is one thing - having a defence shut that danger down is another!
Storming our way to glory!

Was in heaven last night.
Starting with the U/20's great performance to beat those rabbits. Chisholm was a superstar you are.
Then the shock of the night was our very convincing win against my mosted hated team, next to the Dragons.
Billy was superb. I was really worried for his safety after that spear tackle and if Billy had not turned his body as he was landing, he could have been in a heap of trouble.
Neilson, Tolman and Cam were standouts.
Very proud of the team last night and wasn't it great waving off those Manly supporters.
I was also wrapped with our supporters screaming their lungs off to cheer on the team.
Wasn't it good to be at Etihad stadium with those gale winds blowing outside.

They were injured in the course of the game by our physical power .... that gives kudos to us, not themgothestorm wrote: OK after the euphoria has settled down I think we need to be realistic.

Hardly out muscled ... just because channel nine says it, don't make it true. Sure our forwards weren't getting far past the advantage line for about 10 minutes, but in that time we poleaxed their best prop and scored a brilliant try.- Manly outmuscled us in the first 25 minutes and looked very dangerous
Yeah - 5 from 6 is a terrible result, especially when the one missed was from near the touch line....- Smith's goalkicking continues to be a real worry, especially in a close contest
Just to make sure .... you were watching the Friday night game, weren't you????.....Idiot
GTE (gotheeagles) Were you watching the same game as the rest of us?? It was a great performance...we have improved each week over the past month and we have yet to peak so the signs look good..i would not want to play us next week in Melbourne!!!gothestorm wrote: OK after the euphoria has settled down I think we need to be realistic.
