Ernie Els

Hearing a snippet of an interview with Els on SEN - it sounded like he put himself off after the 14th hole when he realised he could be getting close to a sub-60 round. That could explain the change in form.

Will be interesting to see if he get's close to that form in the last 3 days.

Superbowl XXXVIII

I found that to be a most interesting game (the parts where they actually played). And thanks to the commentary, I now have a basic understanding of the rules of the game (as well as the stupid idiosyncracies!). Who in their right minds would stop a game just to let everyone know there's only 2 minu...

It seems that some people are made of sugar!

Weather should be good - looks to be in the low 30's...

BBQ will be on again.

It seems that some people are made of sugar!

Sad to say I couldn't make it... I was working across the road at the cricket. Not that there was any cricket after 6:15! :)

Should be there next week with bells on! (and clothing too I suppose!)

Steve Waugh? Australian of the Year?

The voting for AusofYear award takes place in December - well before the "baby incident". I would have liked Steve Irwin to win - he does do a lot for Australia, and the environment. On the baby incident - can someone seriously tell me that him holding his baby in a controlled environment ...

Steve Waugh? Australian of the Year?

The can of worms has officially been opened! Should Steve Waugh have been named Australian of the Year? The following people were nominated for this years award (I've taken the opening paragrah from the bio of each nominee from the AustraliaDay's website - http://www.australianoftheyear.gov.au/award...

Who will win the Oz open?

Maybe we should have postponed Aus day celebrations? Did we put too much pressure on them? After all - naming a national holiday in their honour may have been a bit much!

P.S. Waugh? Australian of the Year? I don't think so!

Superbowl XXXVIII

That 2 hour highlights package isn't really highlights - it's the whole game without all the stoppages! Actual game time is 60 minutes (15 min quarters). Playing time is 5 hours. For those that may not like the SBS coverage (they usually get some crappy yank who lives in aus to intro etc), there'll ...

Storm League 22nd January

Everything should be back to normal from the 29th! I'm not sure if I'm working at the cricket yet (Aus v Zimbabwe) but if it doesn't interfere - I'll be there!

And yes - BBQ should be back on!

Farewell of some sorts

It's a shame for us you won't be gracing us with your presence this season.

Good luck with your work ventures, and keep in touch!

Who will win the Oz open?

In the women's I reckon it'll be a Clijsters/Williams final (if that's possible). And then I'd like the almost adopted Kim to take it home!

In the men's it would be an absolute dream if we ended up with a Hewitt / Poo final.

Btw - go Alicia! Keep putting up the fight!

The Pura Cup match between Victoria and South Australia has been postponed until the 8th of February, "The players from both sides were simply not ready to play after what has been," said captain Darren Berry. The rescheduled match will follow just days after Victoria is hosted by South Au...

I just watched David's brother making the statement on the ABC. It's devastating news. The scheduled 4-day match between Victoria and South Australia might not possibly be delayed. I have gained an enourmous amount of respect for the way Hookes has coached Victoria this season, given that I have bee...

I was greatly shocked this morning to hear of the savage attack on former Australian Test player, and current Victorian Bushrangers coach. From the reports I've heard, it was a cowardly king-hit from behind allegedly from a bouncer at the hotel. Hookes is currently in a coma and fighting for his lif...
