Re: Round 27 - Rest and Blood players
Wonder why we even bothered to name Katoa? Not sure if sitting him was the original plan since we only announced two debuts originally? Anyway, good to see another younger guy given a shot. Not sure if anyone outside of Sua has really earnt it but I am excited nonetheless. Craig at the post match p...

Re: R24 Sun - Melbourne v Canberra @ AAMI
Just going off point a bit. I am back watching NRL 360. It is a FAR better show than it used to be. Braith Anasta ( Munster’s manager ) gives us a fair go. That terrible Paul Kent has been banished as co-host due to his personal issues, replaced by Gorden Tallis who again is fair to us ; and another...

Re: R24 Sun - Melbourne v Canberra @ AAMI
Was Tui hurt? He didn't come back after his first stint I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully it just reflected that they wanted to give Tepai and Bronson bigger minutes. I hope Will Warbrick is ok for next week. Craig said Paps unlikely next week , so we need Will to wing and Reimis to centre .

Re: Papi is back!
Looking at the QRL website, I see that Paps played the full 80 today, made 5 conversions and a penalty goal AND scored a try in the last minute ! I expect that will give him huge confidence .

I see the Roosters are one of the teams. How do you think the Cheese will go over there ? I think he might be MVP at the after-parties !!

Re: Round 23 V Panthers Friday
Craig at presser this morning said Hughes is ill and Coates has a sore hip, and Craig not sure if they will be ok for tomorrow night.

Re: Papi is back!
Fantastic news. Just in case Nick Meaney or his friends read this forum, I think it is worth saying that he has been a wonderful acquisition to the Storm. He came as an outside back , at what I assume is a relatively modest salary and has had to cover in the halves and at fullback , as well as takin...

Re: Round 22 vs Eels
With Young presumably out with a hammy next week, instead of bringing Justin Olam back after one week, what about Tom Eisenhuth at left centre, Ellie Katoa back into the starting line up in the second row ? In Olam’s current form I would be worried that Stephen Crichton would carve him up. Tom will ...

Re: Newcastle Knights vs Melbourne Storm at McDonald Jones Stadium, 5.30pm AEST
Katoa said in his interview this week that he has started training again, but has to build up his fitness so is 2-3 weeks away from playing. Presumably with the sensitivity of the eye injury he had to remain quite still, so has lost his fitness edge. Given Craig likes his second rowers to play the f...

Re: Official thread and signing news
Reimis Smith(27) and Meaney(27) are probably next 2 that we look at re extensions. OOC end of next year. Reimis looks happy enough to stay. I sure hope he does. I think NM will attract a bit of interest given how well he's playing and might leave for a spot in a starting 13. Long term here he proba...

Re: Official thread and signing news
Katoa re-signs until end of 2027. Hoping to be back playing in 2-3 weeks, good to finally get a bit of an update there. This is great news. It had been worrying that we had not heard an update for weeks and with him listed as “indefinite “- especially with the eye being such a sensitive area. So it...

Absolutely. He was poor earlier in the season, but has been much better in recent weeks. His confidence is highLennart Bedrager wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:54 pm Origin seems to have given Coates some needed confidence, he seems to be much improved at the moment
