Re: Round 14 Cowboys v Storm Sun 4 June

I mean - it probably could’ve been a lot worse? I still maintain the team plays way too loose - often look for cheap off-loads and to go expansive off very little front-foot ball. The pack this year has been awful. They don’t seem to have the same intensity in contact in both attack and defence as p...

Re: BREAKING: Dragons disaster as Ryles reportedly rejects coaching job to join Storm

Kind of makes sense.

The Dragons’ roster is a mess and Hunt has spoken about his support for Griffin.

He returns to the Storm, with players and staff he’s worked with before, and gets the opportunity to potentially coach Munster, Grant and Hughes.

Yep! Just announced. He’s here for another three years.

Re: RD 11 - Storm v Broncos @ AAMI Park (Thur 11 May)

That was a total mess.

On the plus side - Hughes seems to have turned a corner. I think the biggest issue is he’s far more dangerous when he’s making moves off broken play.

Thought Warbrick, Welch, Grant and Munster were good too.

Re: Magic Round vs Rabbitohs

I think the biggest issue at the moment is the side relies very heavily on individual brilliance instead of building plays through creative passing and kicking. The forward pack is decent and tough but they’re hardly intimidating. Not sure how to look at it but Souths are in really good form curren...

Re: RD 7 - Storm @ Manly (4 Pines Park)

The fines sound about right. Tui paying the stupidity tax. Tuaimalo Vaega was hit with a Grade 2 Shoulder Charge on Cameron Munster and will miss two games with an early guilty plea or three games if he fights the charge and is unsuccessful at the judiciary. No mention of the cannonball on Munster ...

Re: RD 7 - Storm @ Manly (4 Pines Park)

Frustrating.

Also - with all that’s been made of hip drop penalties this week how on earth was that awful tackle on Munster not penalised? Dreadful.

Re: Round 5 Rabbitohs v Storm

We missed a lot in the first 20 mins when both teams were doing 70m a set. After that we tightened up a lot. Importantly in our own 20 in the 2nd half when it really mattered. Stats are only ever part of the story… I think there were about 23 missed in the first 20-30 minutes. Also, I think a heap ...

Re: Round 5 Rabbitohs v Storm

Really need to take advantage of the fact Souths are down Arrow, Tatola and Mitchell for this one. Conditions here are also good for going a bit more expansive if the guys can keep their discipline with their handling. It’d be good to get a win in the bank here ahead of a clash with the Roosters who...

I think he might too.

Bellamy’s a big fan and I’m not sure when Papenhuyzen comes back that they’ll want him to have the added pressure of goal-kicking.

Re: Round 4 Storm v Tigers at AAMI Park

Feels like the guys were a bit down on confidence going into that one and the message was to hold onto possession and tackle well. I think that got through - particularly in the second-half when the lead was fairly comfortable. Loiero’s had his critics but he was good last night. If he can just remo...

Re: Round 4 Storm v Tigers at AAMI Park

Well, after last night, I don't feel so bad about our start to the season. Penrith, the deadset locks for a threepeat (if you listen to the media) now share the same w-l ratio as Melbourne. Does it excuse some very ordinary defensive efforts by the storm? No. But it does show that teams are definit...

Re: Storm @ Gold Coast Titans Cbus Super Stadium, 3.00pm AEDT

Giving Hughes a grade 2 is a nasty decision. It wasn't late and you can argue shoulder charge because he didn't wrap his arms but it was more of a body collision. We should fight it imo. So if Hughes is out for a week (and I really don't think he'll get less) makes me think Munster will be back nex...
