Re: Round 17 v Dragons

I still want Croft to be our halfback going forward. I want him back in as soon as possible. I thought he was unfairly blamed at the start of the year I want him back in if he's in form and earned his spot. There was huge potential as we saw in his games last year and the WCC, but he's dropped off,...

Re: Round 17 v Dragons

Question is, what 'veteran half backs' are available - and still comes down to where does Craig see Croft from a development standpoint. We were lucky with Cronk in that he was able to play that hooker/utility role off the bench before establishing himself as a half back - where Croft I don't believ...

Re: 2018 Junior Development

It's a good under 15 campaign over there... WA are generally strong, so it's great to see that result

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

He sums up the way I see the Cronk departure as a member too. Did he owe us anything? No - he'd been an outstanding contributor to our Club. Was he entitled to leave at the end of the year? - Yes, his prerogative, and understandable with his then fiance in Sydney Did he handle it poorly? Absolutely!...

Re: Round 17 v Dragons

Forwards win matches - backs determine by how much. If the forward battle is even, then the quality of your backs shines. But you'd be hard pressed to find too many teams that win with a well beaten forward pack. I agree on the injuries in our pack, but I would assume Dale is back in this week to he...

it is Cameron v Gareth really.
no, it's 17 v 17... our outs are primarily in the backs, St George in the forwards which is why I think the odds are as they are.

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

NAS on the back of the flight saga was huge, as was Glasby. I'm not sure where the Hoffman hate comes from - Stimson got his start, and Hoffy was by far the better of the two on the night. 12 Runs for 93m (7.75 metres per carry) 1 offload 26 tackles (missed 4 - a little under 85% efficiency so down ...

Re: Billy Slater - Rep Retirement

Great news for Billy - not many captain their state, and playing for both Melbourne and Qld are things that you can clearly tell mean the world to him.
Hopefully he has a ripper, and gets sent off Suncorp how he deserves

Hoffman in 2018

I know when Hoffy came back, there was doubts (I was one of them) about where he fits in the side. I was wrong.. he's been solid as a rock. Still has a few errors in him (I can't find the error stat to confirm or if this is just what we all feel), but food for thought... Hoffy 91.4m per game 320 tac...

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

Apologies, the data I had was slightly out on Hoffy... NAS has more metres, and Finucane slightly higher average, but less games played

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

Hasn't been playing huge minutes, but averaging a bit over 6 hit ups a game, and 66 odd metres. I think he could look for a bit more work, and fix some of that discipline, but as a bench forward he's not far behind others in the prop rotation in terms of output. Interesting to note that after 10 gam...

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

Named squad: A few clouds after rep round with apparently Felise, Fox and Munster having ankle concerns, and of course a ? over NAS getting back in time. 1. Slater 2. Suli 3. Chambers 4. Scott 5. Fox 6. Munster 7. Jacks 8. Glasby 9. Smith 10. NAS 11. Kafusi 12. Hoffman 13. K. Bromwich 14. B. Smith 1...

Re: Round 16 - Roosters vs Storm

I think NAS will play off the bench. They'll be flying business class - with all the medical treatment they receive these days, the flight won't take as much out as it would for Joe Public...
