Re: Official thread and signing news

Will apparently also received a lifetime membership to the club. He spoke about the opportunity with Japanese rugby saying he "just couldn't pass it up" (*wink wink* get it? as in he doesn't like to pass...) https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/teams/storm/nrl-2019-will-chamber...

Re: Storm palyers in Australia Rep Teams

Paps would absolutely light it up in the nines with so much open field

Re: Dally M Awards

I think Munster was fortunate with his win. He was amazing at the start of the year (probably the form player of the competition for a while) but then had a very quiet and non-impactful tail end. Can't fault his snazzy suit though!

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Roosters vs Storm

Thanks for the post. I'm hoping the Roosters win the GF. It's the next best way for Cooper to finish his fantastic career (the best way would have been losing to us in the prelim!)

Re: Mid season player of the year predictions

Does NAS's second part of the year put him close to best forward? Had a quick look over his stats for the season and there were some impressive numbers. GP 27 (equal most with C Smith and both Bromwich bros) Tries 6 (most of any storm forward) Missed Tackles 25 (fewer than J Bromwich 32, C Smith 31...

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Roosters vs Storm

A good effort with limited luck and cutting edge ultimately costing us. Munster was shut down but no one else really stepped up. Nelson and Papi were strong, we missed Suli (he is rocks and diamonds but yards ahead of Chambers or Earl on the wing) and we just didn’t look massively threatening when ...

That's a good one. Though I wonder how they measure that data in the junior leagues where they find some of these guys. The stats there would be rudimentary at best I'd think. Whatever they're doing, it's working bloody well!

Re: The Annual "Wrestling" Media Attack on the Storm

I wish the game had better media coverage. Barely anyone appreciates just how much it holds the game back. I'm with you. I don't read AFL journalism but I wonder if it is as trite as NRL coverage... Certainly most of the other sports media I consume (NBA, UFC, etc) has nowhere near this level of co...

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Roosters vs Storm

I read something that I can't find now to post but it mentioned that we have created a piece of software that tracks the performance etc of every rl player above a certain standard in aus and nz over a rolling two year period. I'm guessing he came across the radar on that. Yeah but I wonder how the...

Mate, don't read the stories. They work off clicks... More people clicking on them = more articles written just like it.

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Roosters vs Storm

I often wonder how the Storm recruiting dept finds these unwanted players. How do we know they will work in the Storm system? What are the qualities they are looking for? Pretty good success rate with a few notable exceptions. Well done to Max King. I wasn't as smitten as some others on here when he...

I would rate him as the most improved player this season.

Re: PRELIMINARY FINAL - Roosters vs Storm

The Roosters looked scary good against Souths. I'm very nervous about this game.

It would be poetic for Cooper's last game ever to be played against us... (hoping he loses, not gets injured/suspended)

I love how fired up NAS was. We need the enthusiasm to carry over into next week if we're going to topple the Roosters.

Re: SEMI FINAL - Storm vs Eels

- C Smith to the halves?
- Suli to QLD cup?
- Paps to lock?
- Tino as trainer?
