Re: Round 6 vs Bulldogs
Anyone else think Welch might be back? I think he’s looked outstanding. He was really important tonight the second the forward rotation got messed up (remembering MacDonald went off for a HIA). He might not quite be at his pre-injury level in 2022 but I don’t think he’s far off. We’re seeing him sta...

Re: Round 5 vs Broncos
Brisbane ..... and early kicks which caused a lot of trouble. I think that’s why the wingers got caught out a bit as it’s against what they typically face. Why oh why don't we do this, and, thank God more teams don't do it against us. Put yourself on the wing, and your inside man from there, do you...

Re: Round 5 vs Broncos
Looking back on this - I think a lot of people are getting swept up in the outs for Brisbane. Have to remember: wins at this time of the year are so important for the big sides (like Brisbane and Penrith, Roosters, Cowboys) due to the rep period. That’s a huge win to have under the belt because like...

Re: Round 5 vs Broncos
Also - adding to the weirdness of this game: the Storm only missed 19 tackles. Felt like they missed about 50.

Re: Round 5 vs Broncos
Don’t even know what to make of that. It was such a strange game. We were punished for not shutting down plays when we should have. Letting the ball bounce, poor positioning, and the bounce of the ball rarely fell our way. You make your own luck most of the time however and you more often than not,...

Re: RD 3 vs Knights
Can probably take something out of that. Effort was there - handling was just off and defence was a bit sloppy. I think the late shuffling of the edges (including Smith going off) really made things difficult. Halves were pretty bad. Passing was off. I think Wishart’s very good but he’s more of a ru...

Too many players running sideways. Run straight. Forward.

Re: Round 2 - Storm vs Warriors @ AAMI Park
Credit has to be given to Loiero too.
Led the pack with 155 metres. Had a heavy involvement and played 70 minutes in the middle.
He would’ve taken an extra workload after Welch was ruled out with a concussion after just managing 11 minutes.

Re: Round 2 - Storm vs Warriors @ AAMI Park
That was unbelievable. The guys has absolutely no business winning that. Although they’ve had their ups and downs this win really shows why Bellamy has instilled so much confidence in Coates and Papenhuyzen. They’re match-winners. Where do we rank that in the club’s comeback wins with seconds to go?...

Re: Round 1 vs Panthers @ AAMI Park
I think something which has also been understated in this performance was the post contact metres. Didn’t do too well in that category last year but to have 646 metres (which was the most over the weekend) and considering the strength of opposition with all that defence which had to be done - that’s...

Re: Round 1 vs Panthers @ AAMI Park
Interesting points from the coach in the post-match: - Bellamy was really unhappy with the handling (almost seemed a bit miffed despite the win). - Impressed with Pezet. Noted he’s intelligent but wanted him to work on his defence in the off-season. Was pleased with his efforts. - Unsure if Munster ...

That was such a Storm win. Just gritty, committed and brutal.
So impressed.

Hughes looks good. Very good.
Really sleek holding up his passes and putting guys into gaps.

Re: Trials 2024
Not sure who’s watching but the Storm are up 12-0. A lot of the starters were pulled just before the 20-minute mark and the replacements put on a really nice try to Coates soon afterwards. Few observations: - Hughes and Katoa combined for a beauty. That combination looked good late last season and c...
