Re: Round 21 - Storm vs Cowboys

My longer term thinking tells me that even if Coops and Cam were rested in the last couple of years when we bowed out of the finals, we'd still have another 15 players playing in the finals who didn't get a rest. A 'tired' performance from the whole team doesn't come down to just two players, irresp...

Re: Round 21 - Storm vs Cowboys

Shorter games may be the best option to appease cam, coops and the club. We're already carrying Hampton on our bench so may as well get him to sub on for Coops and Kenny to take up the hooking role for Cam. I don't know how much of a rest that would be for them since they have to do all the game pre...

Re: Round 21 - Storm vs Cowboys

I don't mind having Young on the bench because our forwards can play big minutes without losing too much impact so we don't necessarily need 4 on the bench unless we're thinking of covering for injuries. I'd like to see Young make a real impact off the bench though otherwise there's no point having ...

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

I'd imagine the cows would throw a huge pile of $$$ at him to replace Tamou. Surely we can't afford to keep 3 'marquee-level' props in Jesse, Jordan and NAS. If I had to choose, I'd probably want to keep NAS over Jordan. Obviously I'd hate to see any of them go but I don't know if the club can manag...

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

Agree with above posts. We don't need anyone at the club who isn't committed to being here. Our systems only work when our players buy into the culture of the club and it would be in the club's interest not to have him here if his heart is elsewhere. I'd love to see some compensation come our way bu...

Re: Round 20 - Storm vs Roosters

The reffing in that game was something special. Similar to the reffing in Origin 3. Storm penalised for a tackle on their kicker that was simultaneous while coops gets clobbered after kicking and no whistle at all. I think it's hilarious that people are saying Munster distracted Ferguson. He dropped...

Re: Round 20 - Storm vs Roosters

I love Young but I don't understand how he would be used off the bench. Maybe they're a bit concerned about Munster's injury? Wouldn't mind seeing Croft or Scott get some more first grade experience if we're going to be giving players a bit of a rest.

Re: Round 19 vs Newcastle Knights

I wouldn't call it selfishness, but I see where you're coming from Kettles. Will is one of the best centres in the game because of his ability to run the football. His strength, speed and ability to pick a great line is what has gotten him over the stripe so many times in the past. Having said that,...

Re: Parramatta salary cap article- SMH

+1 stormy. I wonder if the reason opposition fans are going soft on them is because Parra never achieved anything in all their years of cheating. On the other hand it's very easy to be bitter and envious about the storm because as you say we have the best coach, captain, everything.

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

would appear that Craig and Frank have one eye each firmly on the future of the Club post Cam, Billy and Cooper. Very pleasing to hear of succession planning. I think most would agree that there's something special about our club that makes players want to stay and develop over the long term. It's ...

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

I wouldn't mind keeping either. Probably the one demanding the lowest $ to be honest because I think they both have roughly equal strengths and weaknesses.

Re: Injury Reports

I wonder if the reduced interchange has had anything to do with player injuries? Would be interesting to see the list of injuries across the league last year compared to this year with the reduced interchange. I guess it would probably only really be relevant for the forwards.
