Re: Religion discussion thread

Super as far as your question about Sin I can answer that. God is a loving, forgiving and just God so no matter what you do he will still love you because he is a loving god. The basis of Christianty is that god has given us a second chance after the world stuffed it up the first time. Therefore den...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Ok Super I see why you say what you say but let me put it a different way. I don't think having a brief pre game service will keep anyone away from the game, however if we do have one I can see many Catholics going to church rather over the game, who may attend if there is a a chance for them to pay...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Super let me point out something else. You said earlier something along the lines of why should you respect our beliefs. Well its human natuere to respect other people. Storm have choosen to play a game on the most Holy day of the year and if there going to do that there needs to be some respect sho...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Super let me point out a couple of things here. Firstly I don't agree with the way some Christians promote our religion. I believe they have the right intent in wanting to promote Christianty but I think they should go about it in other ways. Personally I don't force religion down people throat. I t...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Just on this subject listened to the podcast of Father Bob on SEn who said he has spoken to Brian Waldron and offered to do a service at the ground that he says won't offend anyone. Even tho I'm not Catholic Father Bob is a good man and if he says it won't offend non believers lets give him a chance...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Its all well and good to say lets leave religion and politics of the terraces but whether your a believer or not good Friday is a Christian holiday and if we are playing sport on it there needs to be aknoweledgment in some way. If people are strongly opposed to Christianty that much thats fine but m...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Super and anyone else if you want to discuss religion in other details I'm happy to start a thread in the dribble bar for that but outside of talking about the good Friday issue this thread is not the place to discuss it. More then happy to have a chat and hear your views there and answer any questi...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Surandy happy to dicuss that with you another time if you like but in the whole world Jesus is the most talked about person ever and that is a fact. Not pushing it on you but it is a well known fact and I would be happy to explain that in detail if you like but here I would rather keep it to the goo...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Super if you don't want to be respectful then thats up to you but surely what I just suggested about the service being held in a room at the ground is a fair compromise. I don't want to get in to a debate on here but I will say I have nothing against athiests they have there right to have a opinion ...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Infact how about this as a compromise. If it turns out that more then a handful of people are opposed to a service on the ground maybe their could be a good Friday service in the victory room or one of the other rooms around the stadium. It can be announced on the ground and that way people that wan...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Surandy I can't agree with you. I am by no way intending to downplay ANZAC day by saying this but whethr your a believer or not Jesus is the most famous and most spoken about person ever. I think what is done for ANZAC day is great and I have attended dawn services so I'm not downplaying it. I'm Chr...

Re: Religion discussion thread

Look us Christians pushing for this idea are respectful of non believers it would be nice to see the same respect shown in return rather then just bagging what other people believe. When asked about good Friday football in the past people like Father Bob Maguire who is a Storm ambassador have said t...
