Re: Players off contract
Who should the Storm be targeting to recruit? NO-ONE, we don't need to go to the player market, the young guys coming through from Norths have given us great depth. Our current squad has all the bases covered to take us to a title. Retention of our existing players is the number one priority. Storm...

Nah I'm not buying that "his time will come, he's still young" crap! You guys must have short memories, cos this didn't happen last year when Billy Slater made a good start to the year. We didn't just drop him when Junior Langi or whoever returned from injury just because they have more ex...

Team if we have a fully fit squad
Always a tough task this, and no doubt my side will look a lot different come finals time. But here goes: 1 S.Turner 2 Webster 3 Slater 4 King 5 Cooper 6 Geyer 7 Orford 8 Kearns 9 Smith 10 Chan 11 Robinson 12 Kearney 13 Hill 14 Kidwell 15 Reynoldson 16 Williams 17 Johnson I like Earl's idea having 1...

Orford Hotter Than Johns?
I saw an interveiw about him on the Sunday Footy Show a few weeks back and he said he was going to wait for June 30 and see what was available. Not good for Melbourne Can't really blame him for that. Hopefully he has a look around and realises that Melbourne is the shit and signs on for the next ye...

We've have quite the backline dramas don't we. Slater, Turner, Cooper, Bell, MacDougall, Webster, Geyer & King. From that I'd like to see MacDougall dropped, Geyer play 5/8 (Hill to lock) and then have Cooper, Bell or Turner off the bench. I'd also like to see Slater back in the centres, but ju...

Re: Players off contract
Keep: Slater, Orford, Johnson, Friend, Tanielu, Kidwell Get rid of: McFadden, Moala, Howe Need a big year to get a new contract: Williams, Kearney - at their best these 2 are essential, but we could afford to lose them if we are running out of salary cap room. After Williams' game against the Bunnie...

Matt Geyer - 5/8 or wing??
So you are prepared to sacrifice the lock position as one to chalk up some experience? I see lock as an important position, and one which needs to be filled by someone who is able to do the job effectively. Maybe just me... Well yeah, but it's not as if the guys who I suggested to play there (Johns...

Matt Geyer - 5/8 or wing??
I'd like to see the lock position used to give some guys more experience. What I mean is have Williams and Kidwell on the bench, and then rotate Johnson, G.Turner and Friend etc. through the lock position. Having said that, I would still like Hill at lock and Geyer at pivot, but if that isn't going ...

Push for a Test in Melbourne
Ridiculous, I suppose that will go a long way to promoting the game in non-traditional league states!Fampa wrote:Too late, NSW got the test. Again.

I'm fairly happy with that result considering we were without a few of our senior players, and we basically played 28 players in 2 halves. No injuries and didn't concede many tries, you can't ask for much more than that.
Dunno about you, but I'm quietly confident about this year!!

Darren Lockyer
No use worrying about what other teams are planning tactically. That's the Melbourne Storm match committee's job. Darren Lockyer is a star, and will be so no matter where he plays.
