Re: Crowd Lockouts

No exemption for us to train anywhere in Victoria whilst the state of emergency remains in effect. We will be based in Albury for the next week to train (assuming NSW Gov grant approval). See what happens in a weeks time...

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

Look at the way Smith's photo was used yesterday about players refusing to train despite the article having no direct comments from him. This wasn’t limited to one article. Over the past 6 weeks there has been probably close to a dozen articles in a similar vein - players being money hungry/threate...

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

It’s super common. The way it is supposed to work - the journo gets wind of something and then asks the player directly so they have the opportunity to put forward their version of events. If not the player, they will ask the agent. RL reporters aren’t renowned for their professionalism or ability t...

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

Josh texts Phil Rothfield, who broke the story, and this is what he text him: They’re my family mate, their my cousins and two of my uncles. I don’t know what to say, I came up here for my pregnant missus, she’s about to have a baby then spend some time with my family. then the Storm winger sent a t...

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

$20,000 fine. That’s it... Exceptionally weak punishment IMO. * Additional $30,000 fine and 1 game suspension in the background ready to be applied if he messes up a fourth time this year. The NRL has taken to loving these suspended sentences in recent seasons. It’s a crock of sh*t. It’s nothing mor...

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

From the Daily Telegraph... —- Josh Addo-Carr was warned twice before controversial camping trip The camping trip that has put the NRL’s comeback plans on the brink wasn’t Josh Addo-Carr’s first warning over social distancing restrictions. And the Melbourne Storm star’s problems could get even more ...

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

So disappointing. Selfishly putting the the Australian community and the ability for the NRL to start up again at risk. And then hiding behind his ‘culture’? Which part of his culture is riding dirt bikes and shooting? Unbelievably poor form and sh*t excuse. Hopefully sees a hefty punishment, as muc...

Re: Official thread and signing news

The ARU were in massive trouble before the COVID-19 issue even started. Anyone about to commence a contract with them would be (and should be) extremely nervous.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Apparently we have agreed to terms with Justin Olam for a two year extension. Well deserved. JO has developed nicely and is now a solid threat with the ball in hand, and without. Really proud to see him get to this point. Like the rest of the young guys though, some regular games would be ideal to c...

Re: Crowd Lockouts

Well, with the game shut down indefinitely, I wonder what the true financial implications for the club are and whether it puts at risk our survival (in current form). I think the NRL would always have to have a Melbourne team - it would pay for itself and then some in TV rights money... but whether ...

Re: Round 3 - Storm vs Panthers

The Warriors made the commitment to relocate and keep the league alive. I don’t see all Sydney clubs making that commitment. Speaking of which... Damien Cook is happy to relocate to Gladstone. But only for two weeks https://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-2020-damien-cook-coronavirus-gladstone-south-...
