Re: Round 4 vs Rabbitohs

Whoah. Brandon Smith is starting... At prop.

But it's likely he'll roam and play at back-row/lock.

Brenko Lee starts with Seve dropped and Chris Lewis will make his debut from the bench.

Re: Round 4 vs Rabbitohs

Anyone else feel that Bellamy might pull a fast one and change the halves here by moving Jacks to start at halfback? Could potentially mean Hughes moves back to fullback allowing Papenhuyzen to do what he did last year albeit now under the new rules. I'd like to think we give Lee a go here too. He's...

Re: Round 3 - Storm vs Raiders

If you do that, where to you put Dale? He is one of our best players most weeks and on Saturday night was one of the only players who played with any pride for the jersey. Hughes hasn't done anything much right or wrong since he was put into the halves last year. It is not working, move on. You mov...

Re: Round 3 - Storm vs Raiders

I love Drinkwater and still think he should be on the team but he has is own issues adapting to playing a different position. People in here would've killed him for his poor passing and average defence the other night. Hughes hasn't done a lot wrong. We do miss having a natural ball player/leader i...

Re: Crowd Lockouts

The only really good thing about the draw is the fact the Storm get a heap of FTA games.

In fact, only Brisbane has more FTA time slots this year.

Re: Round 3 - Storm vs Raiders

14. Brandon Smith, 15. Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, 16. Nelson Asofa-Solomona, 17. Christian Welch.

You'd have an incredibly hard time convincing me that's not the best bench in the competition.

Re: WTF was JAC thinking ???

It’s super common. The way it is supposed to work - the journo gets wind of something and then asks the player directly so they have the opportunity to put forward their version of events. If not the player, they will ask the agent. RL reporters aren’t renowned for their professionalism or ability ...

Re: Round 2 - Sharks vs Storm

Well, that was awful to watch. Basically nearly lost what was left of my sanity watching that - so many stupid mistakes.

That being said - I think Jesse Bromwich is back. That was easily his best game in months. He was awesome.

Re: Round 1 - Sea Eagles vs Storm

Forwards largely played well although Jesse Bromwich coughed up a few easy balls. All in all it was an extremely clunky performance but the pack muscled up and grinded Manly down. The key to it really was when the Sea Eagles had the ascendancy going up to half-time but opted to take two penalty goal...

Re: Trial Games 2020

Not sure this is the right place for it but anyhow...

Brandon Smith basically just singlehandedly destroyed the Indigenous All Stars.

He had four line breaks, five tackle breaks, two tries and ran for 175 metres.

He’s an absolute monster.

Re: Trial Games 2020

Anyone watching? It's on Fox for those interested. Coming up to half-time at the moment. Lee just stepped past a couple of players from inside his own half on recovering a kick, accelerated and took off. Johns backed up on the inside and he sent him over under the bar for a 14-12 lead. Before that O...

Re: NRL Nines

I wasn't impressed either - that being said it was a weird side they picked. Munster looked pretty though - his agility is still there, looks energetic and fast. I didn't mind Johns either. I think he might need to put on a few kilograms though. Everyone else was fairly average or poor. Didn't like ...

Re: Official thread and signing news

I don’t mind this signing at all. Brenko Lee was earmarked a few years ago as a potential origin player and was in the developing Maroons team.

He was great filling in a few spots in the backline for the Raiders in 2016 too.

If he tightens up his defence he could be very, very good.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Fox Sports is reporting the club still has six empty roster spots for this year - 23 filled out of 29.

Does anyone know who the Storm are potentially bringing in? Wouldn’t mind another halfback and a few backs.

I think we should go after braidon burns now latrell has signed with souths.
This. He'd be a fantastic signing to cover the vacant centre spot. Unfortunately, I believe Mitchell will play fullback with Graham and Burns in the centres.
