Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

I think it’s more than likely that Smith plays this week. Typical cloak and daggers from Storm about Smith injury. I think you’ll find the reason Smith wasn’t there today was because the moment Storm play a Sydney team or travel to Sydney, they are required to go back to the harsher Apollo stage 2 ...

Re: Round 13 - Storm vs Bulldogs

Pretty meh win really which says a lot given it was by 31 points. Have to remember that the Eels and Panthers both face tougher opposition this weekend and could move clear of them if they both lose. I think they're both good chances of getting knocked off - particularly the Panthers given they're p...

Re: Round 13 - Storm vs Bulldogs

How great is Welch? Runs hard but now he's evolved even more to a ball-playing forward at the line. He's opened them up a few times flipping wide passes on the left side.

Re: Round 13 - Storm vs Bulldogs

Wonder how hard we’re trying not to play the Roosters week one of the finals. The Roosters are struggling a bit. I highly doubt the team the Storm beat earlier this season will be around come finals time. Not sure how comfortable I feel about the decision to rest Finucane against that forward pack....

Re: Round 12 - Storm vs Knights

Sunday 2nd August 4:05pm Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast 2nd vs 6th. The Knights are coming off a bad loss to the Bulldogs. The Knights suffered two bad injuries in that game with Andrew McCollough and Conor Watson subsequently ruled out for the season. McCollough ripped his hamstring off th...

Re: Round 11 - Broncos vs Storm

Jahrome Hughes has nine try assists this season despite missing two games. He's only one behind Luke Keary and equal third.

In all of last year, he had 12 try assists.

Surely this is a sign he's improving as a halfback.

Re: Round 9 - Raider vs Storm

sticky sooky Stuart having a whinge about the sin bin. ::) ::) ::) And that's fair enough. It wasn't worth a sin-bin. It did deserve a penalty but honestly that would have been enough - he impeded Fox, but I don't think it was deliberate and calculated. On the other hand, they did score a try off a...

Re: Round 8 - Storm vs Roosters

One more thing - massive credit to Ryan Papenhuyzen for calling for the ball to take a shot at field goal. Heaps of pressure on him to belt it over and he's only 30 games in to his career. Apparently after he kicked it he told Smith from the kick-off he wanted the ball. That's exactly the kind of pl...

Re: Round 8 - Storm vs Roosters

Man, that was tough to handle.

What. About. Our. Club.

Forced interstate, star playmaker out injured, facing the defending premiers who looked unbeatable but they never shied away.

God, I love this team.

He's absolutely dreadful. Full of athletic ability and skill but just has zero game sense at all.

Re: Round 8 - Storm vs Roosters

Shouldn't be trailing at half-time. Getting a bit tired of these desperate off-loads and panic passes - they're never going to work.

So, word is Smith will play in the halves tonight. No idea who partners him but best guess is it'll be Hughes.

Re: Round 8 - Storm vs Roosters

I can't remember the last time the Storm were such outsiders in betting odds. Anyway, a win tonight would be phenomenal but I'll settle for running these guys close and showing a bit of consistency in attack and defence. The Storm pack should be able to match the Roosters I feel and I'm interested i...

Re: Rd 7 vs Warriors

Fox commentators are riding the Warriors wank-fest so hard. Yeah the score is against the run of play, but possession means bugger all if you can't capitalise on it. Anyone can attack all day but it takes a serious team to defend as we have been. How about the Herbert no try? “That’s very 50/50.” H...

Re: Rd 7 vs Warriors

Okay, so there is absolutely no way in the world Paul Momirovski can get dropped next week.

Defensively he’s excellent and he just seems so composed in attack. He’s brilliant.
