Re: Round 26 - Cowboys vs Storm (Kind Of)

The NRL are the ones taking the piss giving us the Cows away, on an 5 day turnaround and after they have had a bye. Absolutely right. It is an outrageous draw. Craig was visibly angry at the unfairness of it. On Monday night on 360 , Buzz Rothfield said the Storm had a duty to the people of NQ to s...

No Lewis he got injured on the weekend Looks about right though….take Lewis out and add atvulu listi the new bears player Frank says that unfortunately Lewis has a stress fracture in his foot - out for 4 weeks. With QRL finals starting this weekend, that is likely the end of the season for Chris.

Re: Round 26 - Cowboys vs Storm (Kind Of)

Love seeing another Lazarus in the 8 jumper ;D Anderson in the halves is intriguing he played well when he has had to step into 5/8 in the past. Bit worried about Coates, he might be underdone come finals time, needed a run this week I would have thought. Frank says Coates was very close, but will ...

Re: Round 25 - Storm vs Dolphins

It was a wonderful atmosphere tonight . Huge crowd and, after a slow start ( I was very worried early on) , the team kicked into gear and gave Nelson a 200th to remember.

Great news that Penrith lost and that we are Minor Premier. This allows Craig to rest a bunch of blokes next Thursday.

Re: Milestone Thread 2024

There is an excellent interview with Nelson on the Storm website ahead of his 200th game this Saturday. He comes across as a very sensitive, impressive person. I look forward to acknowledging on Saturday his contribution to the club- long may it continue! Very interesting that he has his 200th oppos...

Re: Round 25 - Storm vs Dolphins

I hope we pick our best possible team for this one. Due to our poor for-and-against , we need one more win to lockdown top 2. Let’s aim to win this one, then manage players in the last 2 weeks ( especially with the 5 day turnaround for the game in NQ).

Re: Round 24 - Panthers vs Storm

A wonderful win- again showing great character , especially when a man down and behind by six points. It was an outrage that NAS was sin-binned, especially when the Penrith player was not sinbinned for concussing Grant Anderson. As I understand it, Anderson will not be allowed to play next week. Wil...

Re: Round 23 - Rabbitohs vs Storm

The psychology of it all is very interesting. We comfortably beat Souths ; Penrith were very poor against a weak Parra team for 73 minutes. Yet we are down in the dumps and they are walking on air. The reality is that we are clunky but so are they - clunky and beatable. Next Thursday will be fascin...

Re: Official thread and signing news

This is fabulous. Very rare that we snag a high profile player. Coates … before then maybe Finucane ( though he had played for Country but not NSW ). Before then Mick Crocker - was he the highest profile since Glen Lazarus and the other 1998 veterans? Am i missing anyone ? ( i don”t count blokes who...

The vibe is not good , is it ? Back injury. Late withdrawal last week. Not returning this week. Has been a great warrior for us and overcome many serious injuries. I really hope he will be ok soon.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Re Stefano, it seems clear we will not get him. NAS is quoted on NRL website today as saying he is committed to the Storm. We can’t fit both in the cap( apparently). I am happy with that . Nelson has been with us since he was a teenager. He is one of us. His upside is still very high . Re Jonah, on ...

Re: Wishart

Just going to boost this old thread up and feel a bit smug after predicting the future 2 months ago Well done , Mattpoet ! That does seem to be what Craig is thinking . He was happy to have only two big forwards on the bench last night, which allows him to give significant minutes to Wishart ( once...

Re: Official Injury Updates Thread

That was a very positive report from Frank.

With Grant Anderson playing so well and seemingly ok with his knee, and Jack Howarth playing so well inside him, we have the luxury of giving Xavier the time he needs to recover fully.

Thanks Sallymay. Fingers crossed that he gets the all-clear .
