Re: New players for 2019

Huge investments have been made in our young guys. Our recruitment would be the lowest in the NRL, but I would think our talent turnover would also be one of the lowest in the comp. I would have suspected as much, but it's great to see the proof in the numbers. A great testament to what the club ha...

Re: 2019 Storm Leadship Structure

Hardest of passes on Jesse Bromwich still being called a leader and possible future captain of this club. Removed the right to be either a few years ago. Why? Seems like one of the more mature and level-headed guys in the playing group and someone that the younger guys look up to. Captained his cou...

Oh god I really hope so! It's a borderline work safety issue!

Re: Storm axe the cheerleaders

Is this the beginning of our politically correct club? Again, I am SO happy I have downgraded to a 4-game membership. The club seems to be losing a bit of touch here Meh I couldn't care either way. I'm never interested in what the cheerleaders do anyway. I think the storm cheer squad in the stands ...

Re: Munster to Fullback in 2019?

Well said Storm Spirit. In many cases defence is an attitude and there are many cases of smaller guys who are good defenders because they put their bodies on the line.

Re: Munster to Fullback in 2019?

Munster is good enough to play whatever position he wants. Hughes at 6 is a fine alternative. I see him more likely to break the line thanks to his speed and agility but it will be a bigger ask for him to deliver on the defensive end.

Re: 2014 Official thread and signing news

Cam Munster signed until 2023 or until such time as he requests a release for (family reasons)/(homesickness)/(celebrity girlfriend)/(pursuing NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL dream).
The contract situation with NRL players at the moment is a joke: the things aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Re: Cam here or not?

I just think it's strange that during the 2018 season there was talk that he might retire if we win the GF and now all of a sudden he's sure he wants to play for another 2 years. I don't begrudge Smithy anything and as far as I'm concerned he can do whatever he likes, but I would have thought his pr...

Re: Cam here or not?

Strange that he would push for a 2 year contract. I would have thought a player in his position would want to take it year-by-year a la Billy 2017/18. Even if he feels like he has 2 years left, he should be confident that the club would give him another year after this one anyway.

Re: Cam here or not?

Papers looking for any story to talk about in the off-season. No one really knows what any one player gets paid and what third party options, incentive bonuses, etc are in play. Until the League starts disclosing player salaries (around the time when Jarryd Hayne wins his next Dally M), all of this ...

Re: Off season discussion - best ever Storm spine

We won comps with Munster, Widdop, Finch and Inglis. Out of all those I think the 2017 was the most dominant so would have to go with Munster.
