Grapple tackle under spotlight

Paul Simpkins, who will handle the Storm-Dragons clash, has been told by Finch to keep a close eye on any illegal tackles. What scares me about this article - and the attention now being focussed on the tackles - is not one of the high tackles that almost took a couple of our blokes heads off - mad...

ref vs storm

The Video Ref from our game was among 4 officials that have been given a weeks break from the game. The VidRef apparantly has been stood down over the Timana Tahu try. Other officials include a touchy and ref from Friday nights game, and the Ground Manager from the Wests game that saw extra time pla...

Storm Photo Album

I've finally gotten around to adding a mod to the bulletin board software - which now gives all registered users the ability to upload to a Photo Album. You'll now see a new menu option under the Storm Chat heading labelled - funnily enough - Album. Click on this to view or upload pictures into the ...

Daily Telegraph Poster Series

I missed the Geyer 21 - but got the 89% giggle. The other boo boo is that Marcus Bai apparently came from Fiji!

Storm dead certs to win on Sunday

T was at this morning's training session on OP. He looks good. Still as big and scary as I remember last seeing him!

Daily Telegraph Poster Series

Don't know if anyone got their hands on the Storm Poster that came out in the Daily Telegraph from the 9th of March. Two full pages of articles about Storm, and then a double-page spread photo with Stephen Kearney, Billy Slater, Matt Orford, Matt Geyer and Robbie Kearns (wearing some dodgy hair band...

OP Ground Condition

Had a chance to have a good look at the OP surface today - and there's still a lot of visible evidence of the motorcross from 6 weeks ago. Particularly noticable in several places along the east and west sides, and very much so under the northern goal posts. Having said that - MOPT staff all praised...

Hoffman Re-signs

Melbourne has received a significant boost before Sunday's game, re-signing promising back-rower Ryan Hoffman to a two-year deal yesterday. The contract extension comes a day after Storm secured the services of Bellamy for a further three seasons. The junior Kangaroo said Bellamy's decision to stay...

ROVE-STORM MASCOT

The comments were in relation to the promotional ads in the major Melbourne dailies. It shows an ill-fitting costume - particularly evident in the gloves. I'm afraid to say that Rove has some basis for the comments - the photo's are not great - and the costume looks rediculous on whoever is wearing ...

Call SEN tonight after midnight

Tony Schibeci is the midnight to 6am host on Sunday and Monday mornings - and is more than happy to have Storm supporters call him at any time (even if they're discussing something else). Because there aren't as many callers after midnight - he's happy to have people on for even 15 minutes. So for a...

Vic league fans shafted again

I just don't think it's a gaming issue. I just think Ninemsn couldn't be bothered actually getting a permit! Reason I say that is they're already getting (have got?) permits for the AFL comp. And you would think they were done at the same time.

Vic league fans shafted again

Uhm - hate to rain on the conspiracy brigade - but I very much doubt it's a government thing here - they actually make money out of this!

I would put my money on NineMSN not thinking it's worth they're while!

Storm Family Day (Storm Supporters To March)

With all the money they spent on the evening, surely it wouldn't have broken the bank to allow non-members into the aquarium for $5 or $10?

It's a little late on the notice - but they weren't exactly checking memberships on the way in....

John Ribot Just Been Sacked

Without knowing any details - the picture as it looks to me is that News Ltd were annoyed / angry / upset with the handling of the "incident". This led to them taking a more active role with the club - particularly with the negotiations with Bellamy. I would expect that NewsLtd requested R...

Good news for Orford

It's Matty's position as the No. 3 halfback that confuzzles the heck out of me that news of his problems didn't feature on last Sunday's Sports Tonight. In fact - I don't think there was any league news whatsoever! Quite disturbing!
