Re: Finals week 1 vs Sharks

Can I give a shout-out to Nick Meaney - he copped SO MUCH CRAP in the beginning of the year but he has helped Warbrick become an elite player. His defence as a centre has grown in the past few months and is more than capable of breaking the line. Re Paps - ignore the face that his speed has come of...

Re: Finals week 1 vs Sharks

Random thought - has state of origin ruined Nicho Hynes? I don’t think so but I do think it’s exposed a few deficiencies in his attack. He’s not really a threat down a blindside and the reason he excelled at the Storm was because at fullback he was able to utilise the full width of the field with t...

Re: Finals week 1 vs Sharks

Just had a look at Warbrick’s stats in his last two starts…

He has a total five tries, 500 metres and six line breaks. What a behemoth.

Re: Finals week 1 vs Sharks

That was a magnificent win. I loved the way the guys stuck to their game plan and didn’t shirk when a few odd things happened in the first-half.

King and Loiero ran for more than 400 metres combined. Warbrick also had 200 odd metres and two tries. Brilliant.

Re: Finals week 1 vs Sharks

Hazelton picked up a knee injury last week and is in doubt, but has still been named in the extended squad. That looks to be the only change the Sharks might make. He’s an enormous out if he doesn’t play for the Sharks. His ability to hit the line at speed, make tough carries and his short-passing ...

Re: Finals week 1 vs Sharks

Really can’t afford to underestimate the Sharks next week. In a weird way - I see them as being very similar to the Storm in the way they attack. They love shifting the ball wide to their back-rowers, are very athletic and fast, and have a strong backline which gets them out of trouble. Their win to...

Re: Round 27 - Broncos vs Storm

Can’t remember seeing a winger’s stats like Warbrick this season. Last night he ran for about 300 metres, broke eight tackles, had five line breaks and scored three tries. Pretty sure he had similar stats against Parramatta. What an absolute behemoth. He did yes, he's been fantastic the last 2 mont...

Less than 20 minutes gone and the Storm already have four line breaks.

Re: Round 27 - Broncos vs Storm

Bit concerned about Coates here. If he doesn’t play this weekend it’s about 10 or so odd weeks that he hasn’t played first grade. With a hammy, which I think for his is a recurring injury, he’s a bit light on running going into some crunch games. I can’t see how he knocks Anderson out of his spot wi...

Re: Round 26 - Cowboys vs Storm (Kind Of)

If there had been some better decisions defensively from the backs and maybe some more senior heads in the play making decisions the Storm win that. Can’t be too harsh though given only 18 missed tackles, several debutants and the injuries. The two starting props in Welch and Vaalepu were absolutely...

He’s got something to him. I think he’s naturally a very good ball carrier but defensively he’s horrendous.

Re: Round 25 - Storm vs Dolphins

Great win! Could feel a big win bubbling all week but glad to see them put it together on the field. Despite the score, our attacking structures still feel clunky. We more than make up for it with elite level ad-lib footy. We play eyes up better than any other club and when our forwards aim up, it’...

Re: Round 25 - Storm vs Dolphins

Eight line breaks to one at half-time. Grant’s having a huge first-half.

Need to keep the momentum here and close this out. Doesn’t matter if the Storm don’t put them to the sword - let’s hope for no injuries or suspensions and get this one wrapped up.

Re: Round 24 - Panthers vs Storm

I’m going to go out on a limb here - I think the Storm will win this one. I think while the Storm’s form has been pretty average lately not enough has been made of the fact the Panthers aren’t doing too well either. Their win last week was great but that was against an Eels team which has been poor...
